Proposed Program of Work

• Promote and support Downtown development efforts
• Lead efforts to secure I-95 / Sunset Avenue interchange
• Engage with the City efforts to establish a citywide branding initiative
• Promote and encourage beautification project for all areas of the City (Spartanburg, SC investor – Committee of 100)

EDUCATION

• Revive Community Development Foundation of Rocky Mount
• Facilitate the creation of a list of business needs for education
• Promote and support Twin-County strategic education plan to fulfill workforce preparedness for the future
• Promote small business support available from community colleges
• Support programs that educate students about local employmentopportunities

PUBLIC POLICY

• Strengthen relationship with North Carolina Chamber of Commerce and communicate their efforts to our members
• Participate and engage with NC Eastern Region economic development and legislative efforts
• Play an active advocacy role with local, state and national elected and appointed officials
• Promote and support efforts to secure a 2012 Gubernatorial Debate in Rocky Mount
• Advocate public policy positions when appropriate
