Tar River Land Conservancy (TRLC), a private, non-profit land trust based in Louisburg, Franklin County, North Carolina, seeks an experienced, organized, hardworking, and highly motivated professional to lead our develoment and outreach effort. The Director of Development & Outreach works closely with the TRLC staff and Board to plan and undertake the fundraising, marketing, and outreach activities of the organization. The Director of Development & Outreach actively engages in ongoing and
annual fundraising through individual gifts (including major gifts), corporate donations and sponsorships, special events and appeals, planned gifts, and grants from private foundations and governmental partners. The Director of Development & Outreach is responsible for regular engagement of supporters and the general public through press releases, email, the TRLC website, newsletters, and public speaking opportunities. TRLC has protected more than 16,000 acres of land through conservation easements and land acquisitions since the year 2000. Our mission is to protect significant natural resources and working farmland and timberland across an eight county region by partnering with private landowners, businesses, public agencies and officials, local governments, and other non-profit organizations. The eight counties served by TRLC stretch from Person County eastward to Edgecombe and Halifax
Counties. Our work is focused primarily within the Upper Tar River Basin, one of the most ecologically important watersheds in eastern North America, but also includes portions of the Upper Neuse River Basin and Roanoke River Basin. TRLC's offices are located approximately 35 miles northeast of Raleigh and 37 miles west of Rocky Mount, NC. TRLC is a member of the Land Trust Alliance, the North Carolina Land Trust Coumncil, and several Chambers of Commerce in its service area.
