Finance Officer

Job Position:  Finance Officer, 20 hours per week

Salary and Benefits:  Annual salary $22,500
                                        Sick leave, vacation leave, and retirement benefits

Qualifications:

• Completion of a four-year degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience and
   technical training background.

• Local government accounting experience preferred

• Knowledge of NC General Statutes

• Minimum of 5-10 years of progressive work experience in accounting.

• Good computer skills

• Possession of or ability to obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of North
  Carolina for the type of vehicle or equipment operated

• Criminal background check required

• Library experience preferred

Job Description:  Braswell Memorial Library is a local intergovernmental agency. The position of Finance Officer is responsible for planning, developing, implementing, coordinating, and maintaining fiscal management and accounting for the library. This employee serves as Library Finance Officer and is empowered by the Board of Trustees to administer all fiscal affairs of the library including the receipt, accounting, recording, and reporting of all funds, securities, and disbursements.  Responsibilities also include budget management, grants management, and internal auditing.
